UPDATE: The MakerBot has been ordered! Thanks to all of you who donated and made this possible. It’s pretty awesome that we were able to raise close to $1k in a weeks time.
Hive76 is running a fundraiser to get a MakerBot. We’re pretty close to the goal, and hope to get ours before Hive13 get’s [...]

My Serial LCD from Sparkfun arrived yesterday. I was surprised as to how simple it is to get these working. 3 wires and a few lines of code is all it takes for the basics. I’ll use this for mode selection and general information output, as well as debugging.

That must be. Over the years, I’ve doe work that was hobby first, and later became bothersome. Anything dealing with computers, for example. But constructing an environment similar to a specific location on the planet Mars, then using an exact copy of the Spirit Rover to figure out how to get him moving again.. simply [...]
